OVER 200 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TO LEAD THE WAY IN ENVIRONMENTAL CLEANLINESS AND SANITATION ADVOCACY TODAY
About 200 students drawn from GIMPA, University of Ghana, KNUST, Cape Coast University, University of Professional Studies, Central University just to mention a few will today Friday 28th August 2015 engage the Darkuman community in a cleanup campaign dubbed “MY ENVIRONMENT, YOUR ENVIRONMENT OUR ENVIRONMENT campaign”.
The moves forms part of the objectives of the Generational
Thinkers Ghana (GTG), a youth think-tank and an advocacy organization put together to complement the efforts of Ghana’s Local Government Ministry’s quest to promote environmental cleanliness through its national sanitation days exercise held monthly.
Former General Secretary of GIMPA SRC, Raymond Nuworkpor, and also a final year student of GIMPA is founder and Executive Director of the Generational Thinkers Ghana. The cleanup campaign is supported by another think tank group called Chamber of Inspirational Leaders- Gh (CIL-Gh) led by Eric K. Oppong. The exercise is in collaboration with WatsUp T.V with support from the Darkuman local Assembly.
The GTG will occupy the Darkuman Market and it surroundings to take cleanliness to the next level by thoroughly cleaning up the DARKUMAN MARKET & ITS ENVIRONS. The young thinker Raymond Nuworkpor and Executive Director of GTG is poised to lead university students to give back to society through Sensitization & enlightened interactions on the importance of keeping a safe environment. A special free eye screening exercise will be organized for the Darkuman community after the clean up. It is hoped that participants will have the opportunity to Network during the refreshment session. Together we can be the change Ghana needs. Raymond Nuworkpor has said.
